Up for sale is an Original botanical print from The Temple of Flora or the Garden of Nature by Dr. Robert Thornton, entitled "The Sacred Egyptian Bean". This is the real deal! This print is from 1804 and at one time had a certificate of authenticity from The Map House in London, where it was purchased by my client. The certificate has been misplaced. I am confident this print will authenticate by your art dealer for their customary fee. The artist of the painting was Henderson, and the stipple engraver was Burke & Lewis. The publication had a total of 31 plates. They are among the most important and the most beautiful botanical prints ever published. The plates were finished in color aquatint and finished by hand. This print contains the script names and information shown in the photos. Published December 1, 1804. The print measures 18 1/8" x 15" . This print was professionally framed, and the frame is genuine gold leaf gilt. I can send you more detail photos if you need them, please contact me. This box is 28 x 40 x 5 and about 20 lbs.
